Botched Turkish Surgery Leaves Hull Mother Battling Infection

A mother from Hull, who underwent botched plastic surgery in Turkey, is now battling a severe infection that is causing damage to her skin. Soreena O’Malley traveled to Turkey for a tummy tuck and 360 liposuction advertised on Facebook, but the procedure was not done correctly. As a result, she is now bedridden in the UK and receiving emergency treatment from the NHS.

Due to the complications, Soreena has a significant wound on her stomach and struggles with daily activities like dressing herself. She expressed disappointment in the outcome, stating that she had saved up for the surgery to address her body insecurities following childbirth.

The infection from the surgery is causing further issues for Soreena, with a substantial gap in her abdomen that may take up to two years to heal. She is now cautioning other women against seeking cosmetic surgery abroad, emphasizing the importance of thorough research and proper care.

Soreena recounted her unsettling experience before the surgery, including being pressured to pay upfront and facing language barriers with consent forms in Turkish. The NHS advises caution when considering cosmetic surgery packages and stresses the importance of consulting with the surgeon directly.

In an effort to raise funds for corrective surgery, Soreena’s partner has launched a gofundme page with a target of £5,000. As of now, £426 has been raised towards the goal. To contribute, visit the fundraising page linked here.
