Hamilton Laments Ferrari’s Struggle at Monza, Fans’ Fervor Undiminished

Lewis Hamilton believes that only Brazilian football enthusiasts match the fervor of Ferrari’s dedicated Tifosi supporters. Despite the overwhelming backing at Monza, the British driver expressed regret to his team as Ferrari struggled to contend for pole position at their home Grand Prix.

Hamilton, facing a five-place grid penalty, had no chance of claiming pole and will commence today’s race from the 10th spot. Charles Leclerc secured the fourth-fastest time as Ferrari opted not to utilize the seven-time champion to assist his teammate on the lengthy straights at the Temple of Speed.

During a radio communication not aired on Sky Sports, Hamilton apologized for his limitations but later acknowledged the team’s progress, stating, “I am pleased with our advancements. We have been consistently close to Leclerc’s pace. I need to continue working on it to see further improvements.”

Although Hamilton’s tenure with Ferrari has not yielded much success, the unwavering support of their fans remained evident as they cheered him on throughout. Reflecting on the experience, Hamilton shared, “It has been an incredible journey as a Ferrari driver. The fans here are truly remarkable, and the energy since Wednesday… is simply indescribable.”

Speaking about his qualifying performance, Leclerc admitted that his initial flying lap was nearly flawless but recognized the challenge of surpassing it. Despite last year’s victory from fourth on the grid, Leclerc expressed skepticism about repeating the feat due to increased difficulty this year.
