Apple has announced the upcoming release of iOS 27 at WWDC in California, promising significant performance improvements for iPhone users. Alongside enhancements to Siri, Apple Intelligence, photo editing tools, and customization options, the new update aims to make apps launch up to 30% faster, leading to a smoother user experience.
The tech giant claims that with iOS 27, loading photos will be up to 70% faster, and AirDrop transfers will be 80% quicker across all devices. Notably, the boost in performance is not limited to the latest iPhone models but extends to older devices like the iPhone 11 and iPhone 12, thanks to a feature known as the CPU scheduler. This feature optimizes the device’s performance by prioritizing the app in use over background processes, resulting in improved speed and fluidity.
Apple anticipates that these enhancements will prolong the lifespan of aging devices, reducing the necessity to upgrade phones that are still in good working condition. The company emphasizes that these improvements will elevate system capabilities, making everyday tasks faster, smoother, and more enjoyable for users. While an exact release date for iOS 27 has not been disclosed, it is expected to be available in September.
