New images showcase global support for Iranian protesters rallying against the oppressive regime led by Ayatollah Ali Khamenei. The Supreme Leader’s harsh crackdown on citizens has sparked outrage, with an estimated 2,500 casualties as anti-government demonstrators challenge the regime over economic hardships. Demonstrations in Iran have garnered solidarity from international allies calling for an end to the violence.
Photos depict supporters in the UK, South Korea, Israel, Germany, Turkey, and other countries rallying to free Iran from its authoritarian rule. Some protestors have burned images of the Ayatollah and donned Iran’s pre-revolutionary “Lion and Sun” flag, symbolizing Persian heritage. The flag, once a royal emblem, has been raised alongside pictures of exiled crown prince Reza Pahlavi, son of the former Shah, Mohammad Reza Pahlavi, who resides in the US and is considered a potential replacement for the current leadership.
In Romania, demonstrators displayed a portrait of Reza Pahlavi, while protestors in Germany adorned themselves with the colors of Iran’s former flag. Parisian protestors held signs supporting Reza Pahlavi, and in Switzerland, some individuals burned images of Ayatollah Ali Khamenei. Shiite Muslims in Pakistan denounced the Iranian government, and Chilean residents staged protests outside Iran’s embassy in Santiago.
Outside the White House in Washington, protestors laid out a large Persian flag, while in Seoul, demonstrators gathered outside the Iranian Embassy. Londoners staged a protest near the Houses of Parliament, showcasing global solidarity with the Iranian people’s struggle for change.
