Newly released footage reveals a confrontation between Renee Good and an ICE agent, where the agent shot her three times after she attempted to maneuver her car around him. The video, recorded by the agent, captures the moments leading up to the incident from his perspective.
Good’s vehicle is shown partially obstructing the road as the agent exits his vehicle and proceeds to circle around her car, recording her face and license plate. During the interaction, Good remains calm, stating, “That’s fine, dude. I’m not mad at you,” while another individual, likely her partner, films the officer on a phone.
In the footage, Good addresses the officer, mentioning that they do not change their license plates daily and asserting their status as U.S. citizens and former Navy veterans. As the agent continues to move around the car, Good reverses to allow other vehicles to pass.
At one point, the person outside the car suggests the officers go get lunch, prompting other officers to demand Good to exit her vehicle. Good is then seen turning her steering wheel to drive around the officer in front, following which three shots are heard as her car speeds towards parked vehicles, with the agent cursing at her.
The video contradicts statements made by the White House regarding the incident, providing context to the events. It clarifies that Good was attempting to maneuver around the officer and was not intentionally trying to harm him. Despite this, US Vice President JD Vance claimed the footage supported his assertion that Good was aiming to injure the officer, prompting a strong response criticizing media coverage of the incident.
